The 46th Annual International IATEFL Conference & Exhibition has just ended

http://iatefl.britishcouncil.org/2012/

I was able to attend only on March 23, but I caught the final “plenary” by Derek Dick, a.k.a. Fish, who linked his lyrics to the teaching of English and brought a guitarist and keyboard player to help him make his point in a rock concert ending to a conference show that played well online.

I watched the earlier plenaries at the outdoor theater on Edunation:

Time: March 20, 2012 to March 23, 2012
Location: Glasgow and a video stream and this streamed on EduNation in SL
SL component organized By: Heike Philp aka Gwen Gwasi

Event Description:
Tue 20 – Fri 23 March 2012
Glasgow Online of IATEFL
IATEFL is the main conference in the UK for English teachers and takes place this week from 19 March – 23 March and about 10% of its program will be streamed online.

In the sandbox on EduNation Heike has put up a big display

At first all I could see was a plywood board so I used a mashup technique to get the stream in SL

Heike finally got it working and this is what it looks like in SL:
